Careca needs no introduction in Lisbon. The coffee is good, the croissants and broken palmiers are irresistible - at any time of day, there's always a reason to stop in.

Restaurante O Frade
Serious Portuguese cooking, without the fuss. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is attentive and the dishes are meant to be enjoyed slowly. My go-to when I want a proper lunch without any complications.

Graça Araújo
I can never walk past without going in. The artisan pastries are a constant temptation and choosing is never easy - but it's always a good choice.

Museu do Tesouro Real
For anyone who loves Portuguese history - and jewels! - this is well worth a visit. The collection is impressive and it's the kind of experience that stays with you long after you leave.

Restaurante Canalha
Relaxed atmosphere, fresh ingredients, a good wine list. Canalha is one of those places where you go for a good meal and end up staying for the conversation.
